By accessing and using fecht.guru ("Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.

3. AI-Generated Content

Important Notice: This Service uses artificial intelligence (AI) systems to generate responses about Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA). You acknowledge and understand that:

  • AI Limitations: AI-generated responses may contain inaccuracies, misinterpretations, or outdated information
  • Not Professional Advice: Content provided is for informational and educational purposes only
  • Historical Accuracy: Interpretations of historical treatises may vary and should be verified with original sources
  • Safety Responsibility: You are solely responsible for verifying all techniques with qualified instructors before physical practice

5. Use of Service

5.1 Permitted Use

You may use the Service for:

You may NOT use the Service to:

  • Generate content that violates laws or regulations
  • Harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Distribute malware or engage in malicious activities

  • Scrape or systematically download content
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract AI model parameters

6. Rate Limiting

The app-hosted Azure AI Foundry provider is subject to a daily usage budget per authenticated user. The number of available requests depends on the AI model selected — more capable models consume more of your daily budget. Your current remaining quota is visible in the Settings panel. Exceeding the daily budget may result in temporary suspension of access until the following day.

7. User Accounts

Authentication is provided via Supabase Auth, supporting Google OAuth, email/password, and magic link sign-in. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Service Content

The Service interface, design, and original content are owned by Falck Studios AS and protected by copyright laws.

8.2 Historical Sources

Historical treatise content is derived from public domain historical sources and is provided for educational purposes under fair use. AI interpretations of historical sources are provided for educational purposes.

8.3 User Content

You retain ownership of questions and prompts you submit. By using the Service, you grant us a license to process your inputs for the purpose of generating responses.

9. Third-Party AI Providers

The Service uses third-party AI models from:

  • Microsoft (Azure AI Foundry): Subject to Microsoft Licensing Terms
  • WebLLM: Local browser-based models (no third-party data transfer)

Your use of these providers is subject to their respective terms and policies.

10. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in compliance with GDPR and other data protection laws.

11.1 No Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

11.2 Accuracy Disclaimer

We make no representations or warranties about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content. Historical interpretations may differ among experts.

11.3 Martial Arts Safety

CRITICAL SAFETY WARNING: Practicing martial arts techniques carries inherent risks of injury. Always practice under qualified supervision with appropriate safety equipment. We are not responsible for any injuries resulting from practicing techniques discussed in AI-generated content.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FALCK STUDIOS AS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • Your use or inability to use the Service
  • Any inaccuracies or errors in AI-generated content
  • Injuries from practicing martial arts techniques
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
  • Third-party conduct or content on the Service

13. Changes to Service

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms of Service periodically. For material changes, we will notify you via the application interface before they take effect. Where changes require renewed acceptance, you will be prompted to review and accept the updated terms.

14. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway. Falck Studios AS is registered in Norway (org. nr 837 347 602) and subject to Norwegian law, including applicable EU regulations.

16. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably. If no resolution is reached, disputes shall be settled by the courts of Bergen, Norway, as the exclusive legal venue, except where prohibited by mandatory consumer protection law.
